Koenigsegg CCRXs Madness at Autostrade, Glen Cove, NY

Chances are if you are car crazy and passionate about exotic super cars, you probably know about the Koenigsegg CCRXs. If not, you can easily find a flood of images all over the web.  For the majority of us, the car is a rare sight. But there are some lucky people who have seen the car or even better, had the privilege of driving one. Fortunately for myself and for a few others in the tri-state area, we had the rare opportunity to see a Koenigsegg CCRXs in person.

July 11, 2014, a Koenigsegg made a roaring appearance with UHHDope Online Magazine at the Autostrade car meet that happens every other Thursday in Glen Cove, NY. Needless to say, the buzz of a Koenigsegg had people from New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, and the entire surrounding town come out to greet this beast. I got the chance to meet the owner of the hyper car and pick his brain a bit. A humble guy who “works hard to play hard.”

His particular Koenigsegg model was the CCXRs, a spider version of the CCXRs that is best described as technologically innovative and sexy in every way possible. A Power output of an astonishing 1018 Bhp at 7000 rpm. What sets this car apart from others is its unique rarity; it is only 1 of 4 in the world. Also, the advanced and carefully thought out precision, technology and aerodynamics of the car is definitely something worth marveling over. On top of that, it is a 4.8 litre twin-supercharged flex fuel (which we will discuss in a later blog because that’s just insane!). This hyper car needs little hype especially with the deadly stance it posses. Its unconventional doors always make for a huge plus. Below is some history and facts about the Koenigsegg followed by pictures of the beautiful beast.

The Koenigsegg originated in 1994 by Christian von Koenigsegg, a Swedish manufacturer of high-performance sports cars also known as hyper-cars. Their first street-legal production car took delivery in 2002.

Facts from wikipedia.com of Koenigsegg“Apart from developing, manufacturing and selling the Koenigsegg line of supercars, Koenigsegg is also involved in “green technology” development programmes beginning with the CCXR (“Flower Power”) flexfuel supercar and continuing through the present with the Agera R. Koenigsegg is also active in development programs when it comes to plug-in electric cars’ systems and next-generation reciprocating engine technologies. In March 2009 the Koenigsegg CCXR was chosen by Forbes to be one of the ten most beautiful cars in history. In December 2010 the Koenigsegg Agera won the BBC Top Gear Hypercar of the Year Award.”

List of models (list provided by wikipedia.com)

What’s the price tag on such an exotic hyper car? Well, according to Exec Digital blog, a cold $1.3 million. “Talking of power, the Koenigsegg CCXR takes the fourth spot on our list. This car is worth $1.3 million and is a variant on the Koenigsegg CCX. This model made headlines recently when it was one of two cars clamped outside Harrods in London (the other was a £350,000 Lamborghini Murcielago LP670-4 SuperVeloce). It is believed they were the property of the Knightsbridge store’s owners, members of the Qatari Royal Family. Only six Koenigsegg CCXRs have been produced.”
